About Lucy Pritzker, MS

Lucy has a bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Addiction Counseling. She has worked as a mental health counselor, a NYC high school substance abuse counselor, a crisis worker, and a teacher for LD and students on the autism spectrum.

In addition to her professional knowledge, Lucy knows, from personal experience, the challenges of raising a special needs child and just how invaluable the right program is.

Lucy and her husband have three children 8, 11, and 12. Becoming parents was a dream come true. They embraced the chaos of three-under-five and loved the excitement of their young family.

But something just wasn't right. Lucy's eldest, almost from infancy, was challenging. And the challenges grew as he did. Originally diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety, his issues continued to surface and the family was faced with new challenges on a regular basis. New issues meant new professionals, new diagnoses (Asperger's, bipolar, nonverbal learning disorder, PDD-NOS), new medications.

It seemed there were no answers in sight, no professionals to help and no programs to attend.

Lucy knows first hand how important the right educational environment is and understands the difficult decisions families face when considering boarding and residential programs.

She also knows how it feels to find the right placement.

Lucy is a true believer that there is a program for everybody - you just need to know where to look.

She sees families in her private practice in her Westfield, NJ, and Katonah, NY, offices. She also conducts phone and Skype® sessions for those not able to meet face-to-face.
